Ceramic Paper: the invisible ally that protects high-temperature processes

Read moreThe rock wool It is one of the most widely used insulating materials in modern industry due to its excellent performance at high temperatures, fire resistance, and sound insulation capabilities. This type of insulation is manufactured from volcanic rock (such as basalt), which is melted at temperatures exceeding 1500 °C and then transformed into fibers through a centrifugal or blowing process. The result is a material with a fibrous structure that traps air inside, giving it outstanding thermal properties.
In industrial settings, temperature control is essential for energy efficiency, personnel safety, and equipment durability. Rock wool is a passive thermal insulation material that helps reduce heat transfer in boilers, ducts, furnaces, tanks, turbines, and other equipment exposed to high temperatures.
It withstands continuous temperatures up to 650 °C, and some special products can reach over 800 °C without losing their structural properties. Unlike other plastic materials or insulating foams, rock mineral wool does not melt, emit toxic gases, or propagate fire, making it a safe and reliable solution for industries with thermal or flammability risks.
Energy efficiency: By reducing heat loss in thermal systems, it allows for energy savings and the stabilization of production processes.
Fire protection: Its mineral origin makes it non-combustible. In case of fire, it does not contribute to the spread of the fire nor does it emit harmful gases.
Noise reduction: Its fibrous structure also acts as an acoustic insulator, attenuating the noise generated by machinery, compressors, or vibrations.
Dimensional stability: It does not deform, collapse, or lose volume over time or under moderate compression.
Resistance to moisture and mold: Although it is not completely waterproof, rock wool does not easily absorb water and does not degrade with ambient humidity.
Compatibility with other materials: It can be combined with aluminum, galvanized steel, or other coatings to suit different installation conditions.
Rock wool is available in various forms: blankets, rigid panels, preformed tubes, and in bulk. It can be installed using mechanical fasteners, heat-resistant adhesives, or metal fixing systems.
Many products come combined with aluminum coatings either metal mesh, which improve mechanical protection, reflect radiant heat and facilitate handling.
When selecting rock wool as insulation, it is important to consider:
