Polypropylene PP
A semi-crystalline thermoplastic that is somewhat comparable to polyethylene and is similar in construction. Polypropylene also has good chemical resistance and can be welded, although it is more rigid and melts at higher temperatures. However, it is not very resistant to abrasion and weathering, and is weak against UV rays.
Properties:
- Physiologically inert.
- High resistance to chemical agents.
- Electrical insulator.
- Low abrasion resistance.
- Excellent mechanical properties.
- It can be welded.
Advantages:
- Light
- High resistance to tension and compression (die-cutting)
- Excellent dielectric properties
- Resistance to most acids and alkalis
- Low coefficient of moisture absorption
- Does not stain
Appsongs:
Polypropylene is used in industrial facilities, chemical tanks, waste bins and containers, coatings, machined parts, sliding elements, rollers, gears, and valves. It is widely used in the chemical, food, and advertising industries.
- Tanks and deposits for chemicals
- Laboratory furniture
- Pressure plates for filters
- Pump components
- Prosthetics, etc. Non-toxic
- Die cutters
