PVC
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS PVC
Rigid PVC is a thermoplastic with an amorphous structure distinguished by its high resistance to chemical agents and excellent mechanical properties. It has excellent chemical stability and fire resistance (self-extinguishing). It is notably resistant to dilute and concentrated acids. It is also a good electrical insulator. It absorbs little water and can be welded and glued. Because its applications are currently being regulated in many countries for environmental reasons, it is often replaced by polypropylene.
PVC PROPERTIES
- High chemical resistance
- Good mechanical properties
- Good dielectric properties
- Good performance in corrosive environments
- It can be welded by contribution and by contact
- Self-extinguishing
PVC APPLICATIONS
Rigid PVC sheets are used for the construction of tanks and reservoirs for water and chemical components in industrial plants. They are also used for the construction of water treatment plants, gears, water pressure and fluid conduction pipes, and general wastewater treatment systems. Rigid PVC sheets are used for all types of machinery parts, especially for the chemical and petrochemical industries.
